Students in the music program have the opportunity to focus on one instrument in either Band, Strings, or Vocal performance. This program allows students the opportunity to explore a wide range of musical genres and styles through large ensembles, chamber groups and solo performance while strengthening their technique on their instrument throughout their secondary school experience. Music theory, music in society, ear training, improvisation and composition are studied to develop a broad musical background. Regular collaborations with guests from Toronto's professional musical community expand student experiences in performance and composition. Music students receive performance opportunities both in and out of school through work done in class as well as our extensive extra-curricular offerings.
