Formatting Assignments MLA

What does it mean to format an assignment in MLA style?

It simply means formatting your work with certain margins, spacing and information. Yes teachers do care about where you put your name (top of the page) and yes, you do need to put your first and last names, the teacher’s name, your course name and the assignment title. This makes it easy for your reader (the teacher to know which student created the work, for which course and assignment.

Your job as a writer is to make things clear to your reader. Using MLA style format is one way to do that. You can get additional information in the TDSB student research guide ResearchSuccess@YourLibrary found here.
