Whenever I think about the many volunteers that have helped out over the years, I am reminded of an old Greek proverb. It states that; “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade of which they know they will never sit in.”

There are so many amazing people that have contributed in some way or another, and that give of themselves so selflessly that I am never left uninspired. Our volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. They don’t seek accolades or recognition, and they continually throw their hearts into this event helping people that they will never meet, knowing what we do here is for those that need assistance the most. For our volunteers, helping those that cannot help themselves is reward enough.

I am proud to associate myself with people who are such a world class example of constant positivity and inspiration. This toy drive has the potential to carry on long past where it started. It could, and most definitely should, one day carry on without me. I am humbled by those I surround myself with, and strive everyday to be worthy of the friendships I have made through this event.
